Glass painting

Glass painting belongs to the category of multi-painting,it seemes that the oil painting covered in the glass, and the oil painting is framed with timber seat and placed in a long narrow table or on the wall, It is not an elegant device, most of oil paintings are also the products of Republic of China in the late Qing Dynasty. Glass painting seems ordinary, In fact, it has a lot of knowledge inside it. When we face a cultural relic, no matter which is large or small, The large one may be a grotto, the small one may be a playing toy, Firstly, we need to identify its age, material, the functions of work and etc. We also need to master much knowledge about cultural relic.

The knowledge of glass painting lies in the fact that it is a color painting on the glass, this technique has appeared during the Ming Dynasty. This techique is characterized by the thin glass and it is free of impurities. Glass is a natural and plain material, it can be used as wooden border or shelve and its technique of sculpture is very simple. Unfortunately, because glass is fragile thing so it is not easy to save, Nowdays most glass paintings we can see are made during the period of the Qing Dynasty and Republic of China. During the late Qing Dynasty,One character of glass painting is that the density of glass is moderate. Remember one thing,the year of glass is better if the glass is thinner,which is commonly called:”Good year”, but most of works as “Good year”are produced in Guangdong province of south China, those glasses are white and without impurities,And the techniques of oil painting are so sophisticated, For example,the pictures also including mountains,water,weapon and horses.
